Andre Ishmael

Andre Ishmael

CrossFit Coach

I was in my second year of Physical Therapy school and just got back from vacation. I was going through the vacation picture and ran across a picture with my shirt off and couldn’t believe what I had seen. I knew then it was time to make a change. I recalled watching a re-run of the Crossfit games on television one night and couldn’t help but notice every single athlete competing was in great shape. I then decided to give it a try for myself and I believe it was the best decision I’ve made for my fitness.

Quite a few individuals have heard the stories about crossfitters becoming injured. As a physical therapist I know that correct form in any exercise is important in preventing injury. At Crossfit Independence we strive to ensure that each individual has the proper form and I am able to incorporate my knowledge as a Physical Therapist with Coaching. Becoming Crossfit Level 1 Certified and coaching, gives me the opportunity to combine my profession with the opportunity to aide others in living a healthier lifestyle. Coaching has given me the opportunity to change lives, just like Crossfit has changed my life.

Jeremy Neufeld

Jeremy Neufeld

CrossFit Coach

Jeremy is a very supportive, fun and positive individual who is … Canadian! Jeremy moved to the U.S. in 2002 in order to study, train, and further his then passion … animals. Jeremy has worked as a zookeeper for over twenty years and has always been very active (football, baseball, basketball, skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, etc.) and interested in physical training and nutrition. Over the past five years his passion has switched from working with animals to wanting to empower the human animal to move better, feel better and live better. About 5 ½ years ago he adopted a Paleo lifestyle and has since become very knowledgeable about food, nutrition and its effects on performance, recovery, and overall health for longevity. In the past 5 years Jeremy has acquired multiple fitness certifications from Russian kettlebell training, ACE (American Council on Exercise), to bodyweight and dynamic joint mobility training. It wasn’t until 2014 that Jeremy found CrossFit and knew that this was the path to take in order to effectively change people’s lives! It’s a complete lifestyle! Through CrossFit Jeremy wants to develop a new and healthy appreciation for what people’s bodies can do. The vast majority of the population has some level of mobility issue; mobility and quality of movement are essential to prevent injury, increase one’s strength and (along with proper nutrition) discover health for a lifetime
